Controversial Wedding Fashion Trends

Wedding season is here and with that it’s probably time to choose an outfit for that upcoming wedding. If you’re looking to be on trend, read on.

The 90s are Back

This year we have spotted all things 90s in wedding guest attire from slip dresses to platform shoes and even gloves.

Our take: as someone who grew up in the 90s, we love this trend.  We especially love it when the gloves match the dress. Plus the bonus of this trend is that you will wear the pieces again after the wedding.

Second Looks for Bridesmaids

We’ve all seen a second look on a bride - who doesn’t want to wear more than one dress.  And now we are seeing bridesmaids switch up their look post ceremony for a second look.

Our take: whether you are a guest or a wedding party member, if you are going to do a second look, wait until the after party.

Specific Dress Codes for Guests

This trend goes beyond black tie. Couples are now opting for a theme such as western wear or even a single color dress code. Not only just for the wedding, couples having weekend weddings are giving each event a unique dress code.

Our take: we believe the more guidelines you can give your guests, the more unique and memorable your party will be. Just be sure when you are prescribing the dress code, it’s not too prescriptive so that guests are still able to bring their own flair and personality to the look.
